The Catonsville Women’s Giving Circle presents a documentary that reflects a view of our past.

The goal of the film is to record digitally and present these narratives through audio and film documentation. The narratives will document the relevant lives of individuals who attended segregated schools and/or desegregation before and following the 1954 Supreme Court Brown v Board of Education ruling.
Following the documentary showing, Dr. Morna McNulty (Co-Film Producer/Editor) will facilitate a 30-minute discussion that will include some of the film contributors.

“This visit filled me with such joy to see the immediate benefit of our grants in the full backpacks, but, even more so, in the expressions of happiness on faces of children who have received backpacks in the past. I am thrilled that we can support, and happy to be a Grant Liaison to this worthy nonprofit that works to assure vulnerable children of their value to the community.” —Jill Kramer

Many who are reading this may not know of some of the organizations or how even a relatively small grant can make a big difference. That is what Co-convener Jill Kramer discovered when she visited the headquarters of Comfort Cases to present founder Rob Scheer the CWGC’s 2021 grant check for $990 to fund the distribution of 22 backpacks to local foster children.

Giving Back

Membership dues are the primary source of all funds raised for grants. Each year we ask everyone to renew their membership, which has allowed the CWGC to grant a total of more than $350,000 to local, nonprofit organizations since our inception. Simply by joining the CWGC you are making a great contribution back to your community through the power of collective philanthropy.

Tapping In

The CWGC’s involvement with grant recipients extends to more than funding alone. Through our Facebook page and our E-News, we share opportunities for women and family members to volunteer at charities that are current  awardees. It is one more way that the CWGC is “giving to grow a stronger community.”
